JOB: TA/SI opportunities

Greetings,

I am looking to fill two TA/SI positions and would appreciate it if you could pass this on to anyone who may be interested. TAs do not need to be grad students at NAU.

One position involves helping students with a writing intensive course in health sciences. The individual would help students with APA style, grammar and mechanics, and academic writing in general. Students write about a variety of topics ranging from COVID-19 to college student health to healthcare reform. The TA does not need an advanced background in health sciences but must be able to help students with APA style (7th edition), selecting appropriate sources, making solid arguments, etc.

I am also seeking a grader for an introductory course in environmental health. Previous experience with Blackboard and/or grading is helpful. Some course work in nutrition is helpful but not required. The student must be available to grade approximately 50 semester projects within one week after they are submitted on March 28.

Each position is for a total of 25 hours this term and the pay is $12 an hour. Positions must be filled by someone who lives in Arizona. Undergrads are eligible as long as they are not students in NAU's health sciences department.
If you know of someone who is interested in either or both positions, please ask them to email me as soon as possible and attach a writing sample (any paper that uses APA style).

Kind regards,

Kathy Spicer, Ed.D.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
