Research Study on Identity Expression in Online Learning Environments

Dear students:

I am writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in a voluntary research study about gender identity in online classes. I am a PhD student at Northern Arizona University working under the guidance of Dr. Chih-Hsiung Tu.

Participating in the study involves participating in a virtual (Zoom-based) interview with me about your experience as an online student. The interview will take no longer than one hour. All of your responses will be kept confidential and identifying information will only be accessible by myself. For more complete information about confidentiality and procedures, please see the attached consent form.

Any online students are welcome to participate including any gender. The questions are about your experience in your most recent online class and may include questions about your gender identity.

If you are interested in participating or would like additional information about this study, please contact me at aem432@nau.edu as soon as possible.

Thank you for your consideration, and once again, please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested in learning more about this Institutional Review Board approved project.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
