Nominations Open for 2018 Making It Happen Awards-AZTEA

Nominate someone you feel is "Making It Happen" in Educational Technology in Arizona!
Greetings! Chih-Hsiung,

As an ISTE Affiliate, AzTEA has the privilege of awarding two Making IT Happen awards per year.

The Making IT Happen (MIH) award honors outstanding educators and leaders who are committed to transforming education through innovative technology integration. This internationally recognized program identifies visionaries  around the world who cultivate connected, empowered learners in all schools.

This award celebrates something that's very important - those innovators who demonstrate extraordinary commitment, leadership, courage and persistence in improving learning opportunities for students. These are people who:

1. Apply available technology now
2. Move forward and don't look back
3. See students as real people
4. Teach through relationships, inspiring, encouraging and nurturing
5. Recognize that further change is necessary, but understand that it is a process
6. Realize that teacher empowerment is the key element to technology integration
7. Expect success
8. Motivate through awareness and access to information

The winner(s) will receive an exclusive Making IT Happen jacket, an award certificate, a one-year ISTE membership, recognition at  ISTE 2018 conference in June and an invitation to the Making IT Happen reception at the ISTE 2018 conference.

If you want to nominate someone for one of two Making IT Happen Awards to be given by AzTEA this year, complete the nomination form.  Deadline for accepting nominations is March 31, 2018. Nominees will be voted upon and selected by a committee of past AzTEA MIH awardees.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
