Common Feedback for Assignment 1 PLE

Here are the common feedbacks for our Assignment 1 PLE to help you to understand the purposes of our assignment activities.

Twitter

  • Check your Twitter regularly on your computer or even your mobile devices, if you have one, so you know what course announcements are without visiting BBLearn.
  • Need supports from the classmates.  Twitter about your questions with hashtag #ETC545 in your tweet.  Many students check your twitter more frequently than their e-mail.
  • If you prefer not to tweet, you can check “Protect my tweets.” Only people who follow you can see your tweets.

Delicious or Diigo

  • Every day we bookmark many bookmarks on our own computers.  Delicious is a great way to share and organize bookmarks by using tags.  When you bookmark on Delicious, you can use different tags to share with different group of people.  For example, use “ETC545, ETC655” to share the same resource with two different courses, or use “ETC545” to share with the class.  Want to see previous students’ Delicious bookmarks: http://del.icio.us/chihtu/ETC545 This collaborative intelligence is growing constantly. If you tag any online resources with ETC545 on Delicious, it will show on the link above.
  • Several of you have been trying Diigo, a social annotation and bookmarking tool. It is a great tool. Personally, I use both Diigo and Delicious. You can request to join ETC545 Diigo Group to share and to learn from others’ resources: https://groups.diigo.com/group/etc545

NAU Gmail

  • We will use Gmail and Google Docs to submit some of our assignments.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
