Assignment 3 Web Publishing Notes

Thanks for many of you shared your web publishing experiences with me!  Here are the notes to share with you to help you to improve your Assignment 3.

Q: Do we need to produce any web page for Assignment 3?

A: No. All you need to do is go through different tutorials and answer the four questions.  You do not need to submit any web page you create, either, even you did create some.

Q: I am having difficult time with FTP. Is it acceptable if I couldn't finish FTP?

A: Yes, it is perfectly acceptable.  FTP and HTML editor are fairly challenging to understand; however, it is the most common way to create and to publish more advanced web pages.

Q: I like really wiki.  Can I focus more on evaluating wiki tools since I plan to use wiki for my final unit?

A: Yes.  In the past, almost all students integrate wiki to deliver their final online unit since it is much easier to understand, to design, and to develop unless you are verycomfortable with FTP and HTML editor and intend to design more advanced webpages.

Q: What are the most popular wiki tools that previous students select to review and to deliver their final unit?

A: Google Sites; WetPaint Wiki; Wikispaces etc. Feel free to use any wiki that you prefer.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
