Module 2 Discussion Notes:

  • More active: Great to see. We were more active and interactive, particularly in 2nd posting period and engaged in Learner-Learner interaction and more free-flow discussions.
  • Respond to Instructor's AND others' postings. Our classmates and I frequently ask the others questions. Don't forget to respond to them.  Frequently, I respond to your postings.  Don't overlook them.
  • Extra Credit: Symbaloo PLE. I am so thrilled to see we have more than 2/3 of students completed this activity and earned the bonus points. Congratulations. You can earn extra credit by completing the required instructions.

Assignment 2: Online Technology Evaluation

  • What we did well:
    • There were a few students who did an excellent job in evaluating LMS. They were very thorough with comprehensive justifications and evaluations.
    • Most of you have identified an effective LMS to deliver your final unit.
  • What to improve:
    • Some of us did not obtain full understandings on certain criteria, such as Accessibility, Student modeling, Filtering, Referring etc. Be sure to read my feedback and comments. When you are not familiar with the readings, ask me. I will do my best to explain to you.
    • Yes/No: Simply indicate Yes or no in each area does not meet the requirements. Justify your analysis. Sometimes a system may not offer the features we are reviewing. You can describe what you research you conducted but couldn't locate any information.
    • Avoid Blank Cell: Provide some information to show you did the research work.

School Computing Policy

Question: Assignment 2, question 12. School's computing policies. I don't have teaching experiences or any school affiliation yet, what should I do?  Answer: We can select any school's or school district's computing policy. If you know which school you may be teaching it, its policy could be a good one. Or you can just select the one from your local schools.  Generally, schools or school districts should publish their policy on the website. For example, here is the one from the Kyrene school district. https://www.kyrene.org/Page/21478
